Mechelle Copeland, LCSW Owner/Therapist
In Person and Telehealth
Therapy with Mechelle
Mechelle works with clients of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures, creating a safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate space where honesty and understanding guide the therapeutic process. She takes a strength-based, integrative approach, drawing from a variety of methods to support people facing
challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, anger, shame, work stress, relationship struggles, and family conflict.
In sessions with Mechelle, you may explore both current and past stressors, emotional responses, and experiences of trauma. While we can’t change difficult experiences from the past, therapy can help you better understand them, work through their impact, and discover ways to resolve the challenges they
bring. Mechelle believes that therapy is a powerful space for insight, growth, and lasting change. Mechelle founded Copeland Counseling in 2022, returning to her passion for providing meaningful psychotherapy. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Clinical Social Work Supervisor, with
over 25 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults across residential settings, community programs, special education schools, adoption programs, and outpatient care. She earned both her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master of Social Work from Rutgers University and has training in
Psychodynamic Theory, Trauma-Informed Practices, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Play/Art Therapy techniques.
